Made it to Sevilla. Left Dallas last night on a 9 hour flight, slept the whole way, landed in Madrid (34 degrees - not expected), took a city train to the main train station, got on the fast AVE train and 2.75 hours later landed in Sevilla, a quick Uber to the hotel and I made it. Everything worked like clockwork, everything was on time, lines were manageable, airports, customs, immigration all very efficient.
I did not know planes could land with zero visibility ... it was so foggy in Madrid that the runway was not visible until we actually touched down ... the magic of technology.
My motorcycle was actually in a friend's office's parking garage next to the hotel ... very convenient! It was all there and after a few issues with the battery and a rear flat tire, got the whole thing to cooperate and put together ... ready for departure to the Strait of Gibraltar for a quick ferry crossing into Africa.
Chris and I had a nice dinner at a Peruvian restaurant (chaufa) in Sevilla. All in all a good logistics day to get everything positioned on time for the start of the adventure into the depths of West Africa : )
