Day 5 - History, The Souk, and the Cats

Today, is a rest day.  Late start, late breakfast, and a day with no rain to meander around and see what Marrakesh has to offer.

We spent the morning exploring the souk, the recently restored Ben Youssef Madrasa, the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, and buying some cool stuff ... followed by a nice cappuccino at Zeitoun Cafe and some food at a rooftop restaurant somewhere in the souk ... and then ... a nap!

The Jemma el-Fna plaza is a completely different place at night ... pop-up restaurants everywhere, people everywhere out to have dinner and to just walk around ... a sight to be seen.

Interesting that there are a few children around ... but the few there are, are not playing around or being rowdy ... they are just walking and holding their mom's hands and being very well behaved ?!?!

On our way back, we had heard that the oldest part of the souk closes at 9pm ... we almost got locked in as we could not find the exit as all the stalls were shutting down ... we were not the only ones ... lots of other tourists were lost too ... some with scared looks in their faces : )

Tomorrow, we ride one of the iconic and famous Moroccan motorcycle routes to Tizi n' Test ... and then on to Taroudant for the night.  Excitement is again creeping in : )

Yes, our motorcycles are still there
